Arthur D. Dubois

WELLS Arthur D. Dubois 64 of Wells formerly of Sanford and a long time resident of Long Island , New York died Sunday at York Hospital following a brief illness. He was born in Sanford December 15, 1942 a son of Albert & Dorothy (Parks) Dubois. Arthur attended Sanford schools and was a graduate of Sanford High School class of 1961. Shortly after graduation, he enlisted in the Navy from 1961 to 1965. Following his honorable discharge, he to work for Grumman Aerospace Corp. During that time he attended and graduated from Suffolk (NY) County Community College. He later attended State University of New York in Stonybrook. Arthur was as software engineer with Grumman for forty years retiring from there in March of 2005.After living in Selden Long Island, NY he and his wife Bonnie moved back to Maine. He enjoyed fishing, motorcycling, digital photography, and was a life long fan of the Red Sox and Patriots.Arthur was a 20 plus years volunteer with the Boy Scouts of America. He was awarded the National Silver Beaver Award as an adult volunteer, he was also a member of the American Legion and the Honda Riders Club.Survivors are his wife of 41 years, Bonnie (Merrifield) Dubois of Wells, his two sons, Michael Dubois and his wife Tracey of Centereach, NY and Brian Dubois and his wife Barbara of Holtsville, NY. His Brother Roger Dubois and his wife Patricia of Belleville, IL and his sister Patricia Greaves of Sanford.Four grandchildren, Jacqueline, Sarah, Jeffrey & Jesse.Visiting hours will be Wednesday July 4 from 5 to 8 PM at the Lafrance-Lambert & Black Funeral Home, 29 Winter St., Sanford.
