Arline D. Martineau
Arline D. Martineau, 93, of Springvale, died on Thursday, September 13, 2018 in Rochester, New Hampshire.Arline was born on January 14, 1925 to Ellsworth and Gladys (Young) Nichols in Springvale where she grew up and attended local schools. In 1944 she married Eugene J. Martineau. Arline worked in the Goodall Mills in Sanford for 12 years as a spinner until they closed, she then went to Westpoint Peperell Mill in Biddeford where she was employed for 14 years as a weaver. She went on to work at the Jagger Brothers Mill in Springvale where she stayed for 23 years.Arline was a devoted Catholic and had been member of St Therse of Lisieux Parish. She enjoyed playing beano, cards and tending to her flower gardens. She will be remembered as a kind and loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend and will be dearly missed.Arline was predeceased by her husband Eugene J. Martineau; two sons, Eugene W. and William B. Martineau and by a great-grandson, Corey Ryan Lizotte.Surviving are two children, Arline Linda Lizotte and her husband Alfred D. of Sanford and Eugene A. Martineau and his wife Julie E. of Rochester; six grandchildren, Sue Lizotte, Scott Lizotte, Stacy Cote, Shannon Martineau, Bill Martineau and Thomas Martineau; 17 great-grandchildren and two sisters, Marilyn Dufult of Waterloo, NY and Betty Drouin of Sanford.Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 PM on both Tuesday, September 18th and Wednesday September 19th at the Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home located at 580 Main Street in Springvale.
