Arlene S. Witham

Arlene Shirley Witham, 74, of Lyman passed away in Scarborough on December 25, 2009 after a brief illness.Shirley was born in Lewiston on February 19, 1935 and graduated from Edward Little High School in 1953. After she was married she moved to Kennebunk where she would stay until 2004. Shirley was employed as a bookkeeper for Pillsbury Plumbing for many years. She loved celebrating birthdays with her family, always making sure they had a cake. Holidays were always a fun time, Shirley loved planning surprises for her family. She enjoyed many trips to Las Vegas and later to Foxwoods. She was also an avid Red Sox Fan. Shirley never missed attending her grandson's sporting events. In 2004 she moved to Keywood Manor in Lyman. She participated in many of the community activities and served as a council member for several years.Shirley is survived by her husband of 56 years, Earl L. Witham on Lyman; three daughters, Sheila Martell of Windham, Vicki Witham of Bloomington, IN and Gayle Witham of Kennebunk and her beloved grandson Cameron Dunbar, attending Ohio University.At Shirley's request, services will be private.Arrangements are through Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home in Springvale.To leave a message of condolence, please click on the condolences tab to the left.
