Arlene West
Arlene Celesta Doll West died peacefully at Falmouth By the Sea of pulmonary fibrosis. Arlene was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was an accomplished knitter and seamstress, and crafted countless gifts for her family over the years. In her younger days she enjoyed camping and long nature trips and was a life-long bird watcher. Throughout her life Arlene was a great animal lover and had a large number of pets. She was kind-hearted and contributed to many charities, especially animal rescue. Besides knitting and embroidery, Arlenes hobbies included reading, board games and jigsaw puzzles. She is predeceased by her husband, Milton West and is survived by her son, Donald West and daughter-in-law, Linda Corkrey West; granddaughter, Honor West Smith and her husband, Matthew Smith; great granddaughter, Olive Smith; and granddaughters, Lydia and Brigitte West. Donations in memory of Arlene may be made to American Lung Association of the Northeast or Animal Refuge League of Greater Portland. Funeral services will be in the Spring at --- Cemetery in Bangor.
