Antonio Troiano
Antonio Joseph Troiano, 76, of Sanford, ME and The Villages, FL died after a brief illness on Thursday, February 13, 2014 at the Portsmouth Regional Hospital, surrounded by his family. "Tony" was born in Portland, ME to the late Vincenzia Cinque and Girolano Troiano, June 25, 1937 and was raised by the late Rose Norman, his foster mom, of Sanford, ME. He was a graduate of St. Ignatius High School in Sanford and the University of Southern Maine. He married Corinne Emard in 1963, they lived in Sanford, ME, and for the last 16 years they enjoyed winters in The Villages, FL. Tony served his country for 20 years in the U.S Navy with submarine tours all over the world. After retiring from the Navy, Tony founded "Troiano & Associates" in 1983, an accounting firm in Sanford ME that he built and grew with his son Jeffrey and daughter Tracy. Tony always loved to smile, offer a hug, and enjoyed being a joker. He had many idioms and those who knew and loved him will forever remember their own special sayings, and to all his friends in Florida, they should especially remember, "You're bad Pepere." While Tony enjoyed fishing, hunting, and golfing, his true passion was being with the people he loved, talking, laughing, playing games and enjoying a good meal. A life long Catholic and a deeply religious man, Tony believed and lived his faith everyday.Tony was predeceased by his parents, foster mother Rose Norman and his brothers Frank and Matthew Troiano. He was greatly loved by and is survived by his wife of 50 years, Corinne, his two children, Jeffrey Troiano and his wife Abby, his daughter Tracy Troiano and her partner Robert Endre, and his grandchildren, Justin, Courtney, Jordan and Olivia. He is also survived by his brother Michael Troiano, sister Marie Tuttle, and many cousins, nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held at 11:00am on Wednesday, February 19th at Southern Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery located on Stanley Road in Springvale with a luncheon to celebrate his life to follow at the Sanford Town Club located at 4 Washington Street, 4th floor in Sanford.
