Anthony "Tony" Lombardi, Jr., 70, of North Berwick, died on Monday, March 12, 2018 at the Portsmouth Regional Hospital in Portsmouth, New Hampshire.Tony was born in Boston on August 1, 1947 to Anthony and Joan (Reth) Lombardi. He grew up in Roslindale and attended local schools, graduating from Hyde Park High School in 1967. Following graduation he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force. He proudly served for four years and was stationed in Thailand during the Vietnam era. After completing his enlistment he returned to Massachusetts and joined IUOE Local 4 as a crane oiler and operator where he was employed from 1976 until his retirement in 2009. In 1979 Tony married Kathleen Jackson and together they raised five children and shared 38 years of marriage. In 1986 he and his wife relocated to New Hampshire and in 1995 they purchased a vacation home on Bauneg Beg Lake where they moved after his retirement.Tony was a firearms enthusiast and enjoyed collecting guns and target shooting. He liked riding his pontoon and Jet Ski out on the lake and traveling to different warm and sunny places with his wife. He was an outgoing man who enjoyed talking and spending time with his family and many friends. Tony will be remembered as a loving and devoted, husband, father, son, grandfather and brother and will be dearly missed by his family and friends. Surviving are his wife, Kathie Lombardi of North Berwick; five children, Michael Lombardi and his wife Kelly of Littleton, Colorado, Kristine LaChapelle and her husband Paul of Exeter, New Hampshire, Susan Tracy Ellison and her husband Gene of Largo, Florida, Stephen Visco of Boston, Massachusetts and Anthony Lombardi III and his wife Amanda of Merrimack, New Hampshire; his mother, Joan Lombardi of Brewster, Massachusetts; seven grandchildren, Dominick, Sarah, MacKenzie, Annabelle, Ella, Chase and Callen; his sister, Joan Ellen Gavin of Thornton, Colorado; his brother, Bill Lombardi of Walpole, Massachusetts and many nieces, nephews and honorary grandchildren.Visitation will be from 2:00 to 5:00 PM on Saturday, March 17th at the Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home located at 580 Main Street, Springvale, Maine. Interment will be in the spring at the Southern Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Springvale.
