Anne Marie Frederick
December 31, 1921 ~ October 12, 2015
South Portland- Anne Marie Frederick, 93, died peacefully on Monday, October 12, 2015 at Gosnell Hospice House, she was welcomed into the arms of our Lord and re-united with her beloved husband Bud (Leon) who passed in 2001. She was also looking forward to re-connecting with her parents Patrick and Mattie, her sisters Martha and Sissy, and her brothers Mickey, Bill, and George. Anne raised one perfect child, her daughter Pat, along with a passel of misfits known as The Brothers. Well learn more about them shortly. With Annes passing Pat assumes the role of Matriarch to Annes 12 grandchildren, Aaron (and his wife Emilia), Adam (and his wife Katie), Jane, Andrew (and his wife Betsy), Megan (and her husband Jon), Emily, Audrey, Marina (and her partner Ian), Sam, Edie, Isabella, and Ethan along with the 6 great grandchildren, Etta, Delilah, Gabe, Gideon, Annika, and Attean. Pat will be assisted by the Goddess collective of Annes daughters-in law, Nancy, Marie, Kelly, Pam, Lori, Audrey, Trish, and Laurie. The Goddess Collective is also instrumental in the control and guidance of The Brothers. Mothers are known as vessels of unconditional love and Anne stood foremost among them. The Brothers, however, considered limitless love a theory to be tested and they stretched the bounds of legal, moral, and social convention in their quest to see how deep a mothers love could go. Anne persevered and prevailed through Peter, her favorite, Paul, her favorite, John, her favorite, David, her favorite, Bobby, her favorite, Tommy, her favorite, Chuck, her favorite, and Jim, her favorite. Her love, guidance, virtue, and values turned this nefarious crowd into successful men who honor and love their wives and families although most still quiver at the sight of a ruler. Anne was born in 1921 and raised on Turners Island, riding ice flows down the Fore River into the bay, rowing to the islands, and playing basketball, perfecting her jump shot as captain of her South Portland High team. Her graduation led to a short career at Maine Central Railroad. She then put her heart and soul into raising her family. Her survivors stand in testament to the love, success, and achievement, she fostered. Anne gave us life and love. We are so thankful for those gifts. We honor Anne, Raise a glass to all she has blessed us with, and note, as she would want to tell, that she did one helluva lot of laundry. God Speed and all our Love Mom. Peter, Patricia, Paul, John, David, Robert, Tom, Charles, James. Visiting hours will held on Friday, October 16, 2015 from 4:00 to 7:00pm at the Conroy-Tully Crawford South Portland Chapel, 1024 Broadway, South Portland. All services will be private. To the Frederick family, Wonderful obituary! It had just the right amount of humor and history for your wonderful Mom. Now that that whole generation of Norton’s is gone, I can say that Anne was my favorite, along with Mickey, who was my favorite, Billy, who was my favorite, Martha, who was my favorite, Sis, who was my favorite, and George, who was my favorite. They each meant everything to us along the way and they have each left us with wonderful memories and great genes. We will miss Anne and Buddy, but we will see them both again.Patrick Norton and Diana Johnson
