Ann E. Lunny, 78, of Sanford, passed away peacefully at her home on January 17, 2026.
She was born on October 14, 1947, in Sanford, the daughter of the late Chelsey and Virginia (Mooers) Stocker. Ann grew up in Shapleigh and attended Sanford schools, graduating from Sanford High School.
In 1967, she married the love of her life, Robert Lunny, and together they shared nearly 60 years of marriage. Ann and Robert raised three boys and built a life centered on family, hard work, and love.
Ann had a lifelong love of learning and enjoyed taking various courses throughout her life. Her first job was at Ted’s Fried Clams in Shapleigh. She later worked at Millipore, served as Manager of Housekeeping at Village by the Sea in Wells, and in 2000 became co-owner of the Mousam Valley Motel, all roles she took great pride in.
A devoted sports fan, Ann especially loved cheering on her boys and grandchildren, traveling around the country to support them. She was also a loyal Boston Celtics fan and treasured memories from four trips to Hawaii. Ann enjoyed genealogy, fishing, and spending time on the boat at Square Pond.
An animal lover and admirer of nature, she especially adored cats and enjoyed watching all types of animals. Ann lived a simple life and found joy in life’s small pleasures, shopping, dining at the Windjammer in Rochester, and indulging her sweet tooth. Mostly spending time with those she loved.
Ann was known for her kind heart, gentle humor, and generous spirit. She was always willing to help those in need and was beautiful both inside and out. She took pride in always being presentable. The family would like to extend a special thank you to her friends at Hannaford for their kindness, support, and friendship over the years.
She was predeceased by her parents and her brother, Robert Stocker.
Survivors include her beloved husband, Robert Lunny of Springvale; her children, Christopher Lunny and his wife Liping of Springvale, Michael Lunny and his wife Joielle of Springvale, and Eric Lunny of Springvale; her cherished grandchildren, Carissa, Michael, Emma, Abigail, Matthew, Devinn, Keegan, and Lilliana; her brother, Warren Stocker and his wife Virginia of New Hampshire and Florida; and several nieces and nephews and her beloved cat Lovey.

I Wish
I wish every morning started with Bacon and Eggs,
I wish everyday was a snow day,
I wish everyday was my 16th birthday,
I wish every basketball game went into overtime,
I wish everyone’s parent’s were also their best friends,
I wish I had listened to everything I was told as a kid,
I wish I had stayed at the dinner table a little longer, and listened to your stories,
I wish every sunset… Set just a little slower and lasted just a little longer,
I wish the sun never had to set,
I’m glad that I don’t have to wish, that I told you how much I love you.
Love,
Your son, Chris
Mom
What is a Mom, well let me tell you;
A Mom is someone who stands by your side no matter what you do
Through thick or thin Mom’s are always by your side;
No matter the situation, they never run and hide.
And when your happy, Mom’s are happy too;
Wishing you the best and helping you get through.
Mom’s cheer you up, when you are feeling sad;
And their always patient with you,
They rarely get mad.
Life can be a challenge, the things that come your way,
But Mom’s always seem to know, what to do or say.
After only a few words, Mom’s can always tell your mood,
They can brighten your day, especially with their yummy food!
It is important to know,
that I wouldn’t be me,
If it weren’t for all those times, you spent helping me.
Mom you are not like the rest,
I’m proud you were mine,
I want you to know
You were simply the best.
Love your son
Chris
My heartfelt condolences to Ann’s entire family.
