Anita F. Stanley

Anita F. Stanley 92, of Sanford, died on Sunday, February 16, 2014 at the Newton Center in Sanford.Anita was born on June 10, 1921 to Alfred and Yvonne (Guilbeault) Fontaine in Sanford where she grew up and attended local schools, graduating from St. Ignatius High School. Following high school she married Carl Stanley and together they raised one son. She was employed for many years at Wasco and then for Cyro where she remained until her retirement.Anita was an avid outdoorswoman and enjoyed camping, fishing and snowmobiling. She was a very outgoing person with many friends. She will be remembered as a loving and devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and will be dearly missed.Anita was predeceased by her husband Carl Stanley.Surviving are her son George Stanley and his wife Kathleen of Shapleigh; two siblings, Maurice "Pete" Fontaine and his wife Barbara of Belmont, MA and Pauline Fontaine of Watertown, MA; three grandchildren, Laura Leedberg and her husband Mel of Saco, Shannon Pereira and her husband Brian of Westerly, RI and Meagan Stanley and her companion Matthew Taggart of Westerly, RI; six great-grandchildren, Ashley Leedberg, Katrina Leedberg, Michael Leedberg, Aidan Towner, Keagan Towner and George Pereira.A graveside service will be held at the Riverside Cemetery in Springvale at a date to be announced in the spring.
