Andrew J. Normand, 82, a lifelong resident of Sanford passed away on June 20, 2012 at the Lodges in Springvale. He was born in Sanford on March 9, 1930 the son of the late Adjutor and Marie Jeanne (Marcotte) Normand.A lifelong communicant of St. Ignatius Parish, he graduated from St. Ignatius High School in 1949. He was a 3rd and 4th Degree member of the Knights of Columbus Councils in Sanford.He was employed for 30 years with G.E. in Somersworth, retiring in 1990.For 30 years, along with his wife, Andy was extensively involved, devoted countless hours, collecting pennies for Waban Projects. They would not have been able to do this without the help and support of their family.He is predeceased by his wife of 54 years, Marie (Gingras) Normand and a brother, Rosaire Normand.He is survived by his children; Rosemary Frank, Claire Normand, Kathy Roy and her husband, Michael, Michael Normand, Carolyn Normand, Anne Stone and David Normand. Andy is also survived grandchildren, Mary Hagler, Jim Hagler, Kurt Frank, David Stone Jr., Jess Stone, Daniel Stone, Donna Stone, Shannon Engen, Dereck Rawski, and his great grandchildren, Kilyce Stone, David Stone III, Haley Hagler, Odyn Rawski, Kurtis Frank, Samantha Frank, and Dominic Frank, and a brother, Gerard Normand. The family would like to thank the staff at the Lodges for the kind care given to their father during his stay.A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday June 27th at 11AM at St. Therese of Lisieux Parish, Notre Dame Church in Springvale. Burial will follow at St. Ignatius Cemetery.Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider donations in his memory to the Waban Projects, 5 Dunaway Drive, Sanford, ME 04073.
