Andre C. Cote

Andre C. Cote of Sanford passed away from lengthy illnesses on April 6, 2016 at the age of 84. He was born in Springvale, ME on May 24, 1931, the eldest child of Alphonse and Jeannette (Prince) Cote. In his journey through life, Andre was a farmer's hand, a milkman, an insurance agent, house painter and worked at the Bowl-a-Rama. In 1954 he married Juliette Alexandre and together they raised ten children. He enjoyed the Red Sox, making puzzles, bowling, cutting wood and Dunkin Donuts. He was a hard-worker, helped his neighbors, ushered at St. Ignatius Church, a faithful parishioner of St. Therese of Lisieux Parish, and a member of the Knights of Columbus.He is predeceased by his parents and brothers George, Donald and Robert, and son-in-law Edward Kenyon, Jr. Surviving are his wife, three sons: Paul, Richard and wife Amelia, and Daniel and wife Muriel; seven daughters: Rita and husband Jim Bacon, Irene and husband Bill Single, Claire and husband Bruce Urquhart, Monique Kenyon, Marguerite and husband Tom Cannon, Cecile and husband Larry Bourgoin, and Pauline and husband Ken Butler. He is also survived by six brothers: Rene, Roland, Raymond, Roger, Ernest, and Maurice; four sisters: Pauline Shaw, Rachelle Howard, Helena Ferland and Gloria Clayton and their families; 19 grandchildren, 4 step-grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and 5 step great-grandchildren.A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Therese of Lisieux Parish, Holy Family Church, 66 North Avenue, Sanford on Saturday April 16th at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at St. Ignatius Cemetery.The family would like to thank all the caregivers, Dr. Frank, and everyone who helped them through this difficult process.
