Amber Marie Gray

Amber Marie Gray, 10, of Sanford, went to Jesus on May 1, 2007 after a brief illness.She was born in Portland on February 28, 1997 the daughter of Robert L. Gray, Jr. and Diana L. Easton.Amber, born with cerebral palsy, was a happy and strong little girl who awoke every morning with a smile. In her short 10 years of life, she underwent many surgeries and endured many hospital stays.She was a happy little fighter who, although non-verbal was very expressive in other ways. She was bright and playful and amazed her medical caregivers with her constant ability to beat the odds. Her favorite ride was on any road with a rumble strip and her favorite musician was Louis Armstrong.She had attended the Waban infant and toddler program, and at the time of her death was a student at the Carl J. Lamb School in Sanford.She will be very sadly missed by her mom Diana Bean and her partner Mark Mitchell of Sanford, her dad Rob Gray and his fiance Sue Parkhurst of Waterboro, her sister Isis Gray of Sanford, grandparents Dick and Evelyn Leriche of Sanford, Charlie and Rowena Keenan of Limington, by Uncle Tim and Uncle Shaun, and by many cousins, aunts and uncles.Visiting hours will be held on Thursday from 6-8 PM at the Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home, 580 Main Street, Springvale. A funeral service will be held on Friday at 11 AM at the funeral home. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery in So.
