Alton Staples

Alton Staples, 80 years old, of Sanford, ME died March 21, 2007 at the Greenwood Center in Sanford, ME. Alton was born on November 6, 1926 in Brockton, MA. He was the son of the late Hiram and Mildred Staples. He attended Brockton schools, and for many years he worked for Heidelberg-Harris Graphics, from where he retired. Alton was a hard worker with a great sense of humor. He enjoyed time spent with his friends and family, especially his grandchildren. Al loved harassing & joking with all of the staff at Greenwood Center. Al loved Vannah & never missed watching Wheel of Fortune. In his younger days he was an avid camper & always enjoyed having fun and making people smile all of his life. His parents, a son Gary, and two brothers, Eben and Raymond, predeceased Alton. Surviving are his wife of 37 years Terry (Bazinet) Staples of Sanford; three daughters, Pat Couture of Lebanon, ME, Kelly Stackpole of Sanford, ME, Linda Staples of Carver, MA, a son Wayne Staples of Attleboro, MA, a sister Lorraine Eddy of Sonoma, CA, and many grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. An 11:00 AM memorial service for Mr. Staples will be held this Tuesday, March 27, 2007 at the Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home, 580 Main St. Springvale, ME.
