Alma Virginia D. Walker
April 23, 1918 ~ December 23, 2015
Alma Virginia D. Walker, 97, formerly of Toledo and Oregon, Ohio, passed away peacefully at St. Josephs Nursing Home in Portland, Maine on December 23, 2015, where she has been a resident for several years. Prior to her retirement, she was a secretary at Navarre Elementary School in Toledo. She was predeceased by her husband, Kenneth; and brother, Wallace Duncan. She is survived by her daughter, Linda Rubley and husband Gary of Limington; son, Kenneth B. Jr. and wife Rosemary of Waldron, MI; grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Virginias years at St. Josephs were mostly happy ones and she never despaired as her physical condition deteriorated, but remained upbeat in large part due to the support and love from the CNAs and nurses and fellow residents. Virginias daughter would like to thank these people and the many others who helped to put a smile on her mothers face every day. At Virginias request, funeral arrangements will be private.

Condolences for your loss. Our thoughts and prayers are with you!

Virginia was one of my mom’s best friends. They shared many memories of their days at Navarre School, and Ken and Virginia and Mom and Dad had so many good times together. The Blade no longer publishes on holidays, and I just happened to see Virginia’s obituary on line. My sincere condolences on your loss. She was a terrific person.
