Allen W. "Gully" Gullison, 59, of Springvale, died unexpectedly on October 8 in Norwich, CT.He was born in Rochester, NH on April 6, 1948, a son of Ralph W. and Rachel (Cota) Gullison. He attended Farmington, NH schools and was a 1966 graduate of the former Farmington High School. After high school, he served with the US Navy in Viet Nam. After his military service he attended college in Michigan.Mr. Gullison was employed for a time with Chrysler in Michigan as a production manager. He came back to New England and worked for Davidson Rubber in Dover, NH. At the time of his death, he was employed with the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard as a production shop planner. He had been with the yard over 30 years.He attended the Crossroads United Methodist Church in Sanford, where he participated in building the gazebo and other woodworking projects.Gully was an outdoorsman. He loved to hunt, fish and go camping. He was also a talented woodworker, especially cabinets. He made dressers, gun cabinets and a hope chest for family and friends.He was a member of the Sanford Elks Lodge, the American Legion in Sanford and the Springvale Social Club.Survivors include his wife of 20 years, Deborah (Butler) Gullison of Springvale, his children and grandchildren, Brandon M. Gullison, his wife Jennifer and their children Alexa and Haleigh of E. Wakefield, NH, Dayna F. Gullison of Dover, NH, Karl D. Neider and his significant other Hillary Baker of Hallowell, Brian P. Neider of Mississippi, Whitney A. Gullison of New York City, a brother, Gerald Gullison and his wife Joyce of Farmington, NH, 3 sisters, Edwinna Dore of Farmington, NH, Patricia LaPointe of Dover, NH, Carol Bickford and her significant other David of New Durham, NH, and several nieces and nephews.Relatives and friends are invited to call on Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home, 580 Main Street, Springvale where a funeral service will be conducted on Saturday at 10 AM with the Rev. Les Pettit, pastor of the Crossroads United Methodist Church officiating.. Burial will follow in Oakdale Cemetery in Sanford.Condolences may be expressed by clicking on the Condolences tab at left.
