Alexis Olshansky

TOPSHAM - Alexis Olshansky, 81, of Topsham, formerly of Peaks Island, died peacefully July 27, 2014 at Mid Coast Hospital. He was born February 15, 1933 in Tehran, Iran. He attended Holy Trinity Monastery and Baruch and City College in New York. He married Tatiana Sklerova in New York City in 1958. After a long career as an engineer with Beloit Corp. in Becket, MA, he retired to Peaks Island in 2002. He enjoyed playing the piano, improving his ping-pong game, autobiographical writing, and volunteering. He is survived by his wife Tatiana of Topsham; a step-daughter, Natasha Feigenson of Concord, California; a step-grandson, Nicholas Charov of South Portland; step-granddaughter Katherine Charov of Connecticut; a niece Nina of Arizona; and his faithful companion Fred. A 1:00 p.m. funeral service will be held Saturday, August 2, 2014 at Conroy-Tully Crawford Funeral Home, 172 State Street, Portland. Burial will be private.
