Arthur Joseph Laprise

SANFORD—Arthur J. Laprise, 90, of Sanford, died Saturday January 11, 2025 in Maine Medical Center, Portland.

He was born in Sanford, August 22, 1934 the son of Arthur L. and Alexandria (Morneault) Laprise. He grew up in Sanford and graduated from Sanford High School. Shortly after graduating, he began a career in the shoe manufacturing industry and continued for many years until the factory closed. He went on to work at several jobs around the area, including Simplex and Computervision. He also worked, for a time as a groundskeeper in Kennebunkport.

When Arthur wasn’t working, he enjoyed gardening, fishing, going to the beach and spending time with his family.
Mr. Laprise was married to his wife, Rita (Fournier) Laprise until her passing in 2013. Arthur is survived by his daughter, Joanne Abbott-Brown and her husband Wayne; his partner, Alberta Bourque; his brother, John Laprise; his grandchildren, Andrea Eaton & her husband Kevin, their children, Hope & Grace, Tim Abbott & his wife Alicia and their children Hailey & Wyatt.

There will not be any services for Arthur, as per his wishes.
