Janet L. Boivin, 54, of Sanford, passed away at home on Thursday, January 9, 2025.
Born on April 24, 1970, in Sanford, the daughter of the late Lloyd and Marian Thibodeau. Janet grew up in Sanford, where she attended local schools.
Janet most recently worked at Ocean State Job Lot in Sanford, where her friendly smile and warm greetings brightened the days of her customers. Social and kind-hearted, Janet found joy in making others feel special and loved. Above all, she cherished her family, who were the center of her life.
Janet loved being outdoors and spending time in nature. Whether it was camping, enjoying lake days, or relaxing by the ocean, she found peace and happiness in the beauty of the outdoors. These moments brought her joy and connection to the world around her.
Described as kind, generous, and genuine, Janet touched the lives of many. She had a remarkable way of making everyone feel seen and valued, giving great advice, and leaving a lasting impression on all who knew her.
Janet is predeceased by three brothers: Lloyd G. Thibodeau Jr., Robert Thibodeau, and infant Michael Thibodeau.
She is survived by her loving significant other, Tom Newman of Sanford; daughter Brooke Hume of Sanford and son Todd Hume of Sanford; her sister, Barbara Gagne of Sanford; and her granddaughter, Ella Hume. She is also survived by her sister-in-law Judith Thibodeau; brother-in-law Jeffrey Gagne; nieces and nephews Courtney Thibodeau, Crystal Knight, Kristen Gagne, Jennifer Cabana, and Angel Cabana great-nieces and nephews Camden Meggison, Sophia and Sunny Jae Knowles, Alyssa Boidi, and Garrett Bridges; as well as her great-great-nephew Karson Hunt and baby Nova Hunt, soon to be welcomed into the family.
Janet’s kindness, love, and genuine spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Janet’s aka Blondie’s legacy is her love for her family and friends. She was quick with a smile and a laugh for everyone.

I worked with Janet at Ocean State Job Lots. She was always so down to earth and treated me like a person. I really enjoyed working with her and liked being the runner for her when we worked together in the evening .
Janet was a coworker at ocean state when I lived in Maine. She was always so kind. I miss her and I’ll surely forever miss her now.. I wish the family much support during this difficult time! I am sorry for your loss

I love you dearly and you’re missed down here on earth more than you could imagine
Chatting with friends and family the outdoors going to the beach and watching the Bruins game
Keeping the peace between everyone, she was also a great worker
Coming over to my daughters house to meet my grandson. Such a blessed day.

Some of my favorite memories with you were the times we spent together at Village By The Sea and Beaver Dam Campground. Whether we were just sitting by the water or sharing stories late into the night, those moments were filled with laughter, love, and a sense of togetherness I’ll never forget.
Our endless FaceTime banter and constant text messaging kept us connected no matter how far apart we were. You always had a way of making me laugh, even on my hardest days. Your humor, your kindness, and the bond we shared are things I’ll carry with me forever.
You were more than just my cousin—you were my friend. I’ll miss you deeply and cherish all the beautiful memories we made.

So shocked to hear of Janet’s passing. Had lunch with her with her just before Christmas. I knew she still wasn’t feeling that good, but we still could laugh! So very, very sorry to hear of her passing to family and friends! RIP MY SPECIAL FRIEND!
Met Janet at OSJL in Sanford. We had such a great time working together, then going out to eat from time to time. Stayed friends throughout my moves.
