The youngest of seven children, born on February 27, 1951, to Andre and Emily (Rowe) Cote in Sanford, of which Ronald was a lifelong resident. He was a member of several local social clubs, including being a life member of the Lafayette Club, the Wolves Club, and he was a proud 3rd Degree member of the Knights of Columbus.
Ronald was the first to lend a helping hand, whether it was taking someone to a doctor’s appointment, dropping kids off at school, or being his grandson Nathan's favorite movie buddy. He was widely known for his quick wit, infectious smile, and sense of humor that brightened every occasion. His fun-loving, caring nature left a lasting impression on all who knew him. He was affectionately known by many names: Dad, Papa, Corn Pops, Daddio, Uncle Ronnie, Unkie Ronnie, and to his beloved wife, he was always her "Hunny Bunny."
Ronald was known for being frugal and liked to frequent the Dollar Tree. He liked to make things last and was known for his duct tape antics. He was always the one maintaining the family pool and took pride in growing vegetables in his garden. He was a loyal New England sports fan and loved spending time with family, whether it be a family cookout or hanging out poolside on the deck.
His unique blend of humor, care, and resourcefulness made him a true family man and a cherished friend to many.
He is predeceased by his parents, his siblings Theresa Morin, Donald Cote, Andre Cote Jr., Rita Cote, and Ernest Cote.
He is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Susan Cote (Houle) of Sanford, his sister Beatrice Fletcher "Bea", his sons Jasson Cote and his wife Abbie, of Sanford, and Brandon Cote and his wife Makayla of Springvale, grandson Nathan Cote of Sanford, brother-in-law Peter Houle, and a host of extended family and friends, as well as his pets Ginger and Herbie.

Daddio – you will forever be in my heart.
Thanks for everything Dad. I love you and I miss you so much .
Ron I will always remember your true grit, what a fighter. I will also remember how much you loved your family. I thank you for sharing your beautiful bride, my Bestie, allowing us to go on our many adventures to Boston and Vegas. You would always tell us “beware of your surroundings” and you would be waiting for that call that we got to our destination safely and sent us on our way with your love.
I look forward to our seeing each other again and having that long awaited ice cream 🙂
Till then I know you continue to watch over us all and I promise I will do all I can to watch over them too 😘

When I think of my Uncle Ronnie, the first thing that comes to mind is how much he made me laugh. Never a dull moment, when he was around and he found the humor in everything. I just loved that about him. This world was a brighter, and much funnier, place with him in it, I am going to miss his sense of humor the most. He was such an extraordinary person who touched the lives of so many. Until we meet again….RIP Uncle Ronnie!! Love your Niece, Missy ❤️

He took family and friends to doctor appointments and to the grocery store and did grocery shopping for those who could not get out of the house easily…he did this all without expectation of being compensated other than a “Thank You”.
