It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved sister, Sandra Marie “Sandy” Ryan, who passed away on April 27, 2024 at the age of 56 after a courageous battle with cancer. Sandy was predeceased by her parents Robert and Ruth Ryan (Wormlight) of Somerville, MA.

Sandy loved her nephews and nieces, and was always eager to care for them: David Franceschi, Bob Laurendeau, Mike Laurendeau, Brian Laurendeau, Nathan Williams, Bobby Ryan, Maggie Ryan, Katie Ryan, and Jack Ryan. She also had 6 great nephews and nieces: Marissa Laurendeau, Nick Laurendeau, Haley Laurendeau, Eli Laurendeau, Cameron Laurendeau, and Greyson Laurendeau.
Sandy was born March 26, 1968 in Somerville MA. She attended St. Ann School then moved to Acton, ME where she went to Wells High School until relocating to Rohnert Park, CA her senior year where she spent several years exploring the West coast, working at G&G Market, and enjoying time with friends while participating in a Renaissance Fair Guild.
After returning to the East Coast Sandy spent 24 years as Resource Coordinator at York County Shelter Programs. She loved working with the residents and helping them find comfort and hope.
Sandy was an avid reader, card shark, enjoyed games, was the Canasta Queen, and loved lake time with her family. She loved traveling with family and friends, taking journeys to Hawaii, Florida, and the Caribbean. She was smart, kind, quiet, and for an avid reader was a dismal speller. She was easy to love and was loved by all.

My sister Sandy loved and spent many happy times caring for and playing at Loon Pond with all of her nieces and nephews, as well her grand nieces and nephews. Sandy was a wonderful auntie.
I worked with Sandy for many years at YCSP. She was a very hard worker, reliable and very caring toward everyone, especially shelter clients whom she worked with every day. Sandy and I became very good friends through the years; she was a very special person.
It was the summer of 1974 that I first joined the Fabello family at their cottage on Loon Pond. This picture is from that week. Sandy was a bubbly freckle faced little girl with long blond braids, who absolutely loved being in the water. Oh – to step back in time to all the summers that followed. We will hold Sandy in our hearts forever.
Showed the value of family and perseverance.
Watching her being held up from the hospital window when she was born.
Hearing stories of her life in California, talking about boyfriends! Such a fresher!
Reading. Total nerd.
Terrible speller.
