207-324-4104 Diane M. Lane, 76, of West Newfield, passed away peacefully in her sleep after a long illness on December 25, 2023, at Summer Commons in Sanford. Diane was born on May 1, 1947, to Donald and Evelyn (McGrath) Terrio in Cambridge, MA. She spent her childhood in Cambridge and attended local schools, ultimately graduating from Cambridge High and Latin School. At the age of 18, Diane's life took a beautiful turn when, on a day at an amusement park, she crossed paths with a young man named Terry. A chance meeting led to a ride on his motorcycle, and from that moment, their love story unfolded. Diane and Terry were inseparable, becoming the best thing for each other and celebrating 58 years of marriage. Diane had a zest for life and found joy in simple pleasures. She loved to shop, indulged in various crafts, and enjoyed collecting knickknacks or items that caught her eye, such as miniature tea sets. Diane was a devoted family woman and homemaker finding happiness in any activity spent with her children and grandchildren. She also fun and liked to tease people. Her favorite memory was of getting married to her husband. Known for her sassy and fun personality, Diane had a deep love for music. Her home was always filled with the sounds of her favorite tunes, and she could often be found dancing around with an infectious energy that brought joy to those around her. She loved animals. She had several bird feeders on her porch and enjoyed watching the birds, squirrels and a raccoon family coming to enjoy the seeds. Diane shared a close and cherished relationship with her two sons, creating a strong family bond that endured through the years. Her legacy is one of love, laughter, and the joy of shared moments. She was proud of her marriage. She is survived by her beloved husband, Terrol Lane, of West Newfield, two sons, Grant Lane and his wife Samantha of West Newfield and Bryan Lane and his partner Becky of Sanford, grandchildren, Chasity Ansell, Amber Archer, Jessica Bedard and Mason Lane, great grandchildren, Jacob, Sadie, Landon, Kylie, and Atlas, siblings, Linda Rumson, Janet Farino, Paul Terrio, and Donna Sheehan and several nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind her much-loved rescue dog, Stella, and a cranky, but loved, cat that she took in named Molly. The loss of Diane leaves a void in the hearts of her family and friends. A celebration of her life will be held on a day and time to be announced. May Diane M. Lane rest in eternal peace, surrounded by the love and memories she created throughout her remarkable life.
