Dennis M. Smith 1953-2023 SANFORD—Dennis M. Smith, 70 of Sanford, died on Tuesday, August 8, 2023 at his home. He was born in Sanford April 4, 1953 the son of Joseph N. Sr. and Lucille (Angers) Smith. He grew up in Sanford and early on, worked at Fogg’s Auto as a mechanic. He later learned to weld and became a Welding Foreman at Pratt and Whitney and eventually retired from Sermatech. When he wasn’t working, Dennis enjoyed spending time with family and friends, playing pool and throwing darts. Dennis was predeceased by his parents; his sister, Helen LaPierre and brothers, Robert Smith and Joseph Smith, Jr. He is survived by his children, Crystal Smith of Sanford and Michael Smith and his wife Jennifer of Lyman; his sisters, Kathy Brooks and her husband Robert of Sanford and Julie Brochu and her husband Douglas of Eastbrook; his grandchildren, Avah and Kylie Smith and Alden Clark as well as several nieces and nephews. A celebration of life for Dennis will be held from 1:00 to 5:00 PM on Saturday, August 26th at the Springvale Social Club located at 22 Bridge Street in Springvale. Arrangements are under the direction of Black Funeral Homes and Cremation Service, Sanford-Springvale.

  4. I worked with Dennis at sermatec . And my husband knew him for years. He was such a nice guy and I enjoyed working with him .
    I lost touch with him years ago and was wondering where he was.
    I’m so sorry for your loss. I know I’m late but now at least I can stop wondering.
