Jeanne M. Angers 1924-2023 SANFORD—Jeanne M. Angers, 98, of Sanford, died peacefully Friday June 16 at her son’s home. She was born in Sanford November 3, 1924 the daughter of Albert and Hermine (Bernier) Letourneau. She grew up in Sanford and graduated from Sanford High School. She went on to take some college courses and worked as a bookkeeper for the family business, S.B. Emery Hardware. After the store closed, she worked for Cory Shoe. Jeanne became a stay-at-home mom when her son, Albert was born. Mrs. Angers was a life-long communicant of St. Ignatius Parish and only stopped attending when her health became a concern. Jeanne enjoyed cooking and was a seamstress who could sew just about anything. She loved everyone. Jeanne was predeceased by her husband, Florent Angers in 2010. She is survived by her son Albert and his wife Barbara of Sanford; her grandchildren, Michelle Seale, Christopher Angers, Danielle Angers and Elisabeth Tinsley; her great-grandchildren, Dakota Smith, Trent Seale, Peytence Seale and Aeva Chadbourne and her siblings, John Letourneau and his wife Theresa of Biddeford and Ann Marie Bouthot of Eliot. A graveside service will be held at the Southern Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery on Thursday July 6, 2023 at 10:00 am.

  1. Jeanne ‘Memeré’ was an amazing woman. She welcomed myself and my daughter into her life. She was caring and had quite a spunky side. She lived a long life and saw the ups and downs of the world around but also relished in a better tomorrow. May she rest in peace and be welcomed at the gates by her husband Albert and all other family that has predeceased her.. Our condolences to Albert, his wife Barbara and her grandson Chris, and all other family.
