Resided in: Shapleigh, Maine

Donna M. Hupe, 76, passed away peacefully on October 24th, 2023, at the Gosnell Memorial Hospice House in Scarborough with her brother, Dave and sister in law at her bedside as she wanted. Donna struggled for many years with her health, now she can rest. Donna was born on August 26, 1947, in Troupsburg, New York, the second child and only daughter of five children to Donald and Dorothea (Boardman) Morrison. One can only imagine being the only girl with four brothers. It had its moments! Donna's early childhood was in New York, then the family moved to Saco and then later to Sanford. This is where she met and married Donald Hupe, Sr. and after 38 years, they divorced. She became a Certified Nursing Aide and worked at Maine Stay Nursing Home and other area facilities. Later she worked as an intake specialist for UNUM for several years and then Home Health for 16 years. Donna spent much of her time reading as she was an avid reader and particularly enjoyed reading mysteries. One of her favorite authors was James Patterson. Donna enjoyed connecting with friends and particularly her granddaughter, Jackie through Facebook. She enjoyed seeing Jackie's two children, her great -grandson, Kaden and great-granddaughter, Marleigh growing and changing rapidly. It helped her remember the wonderful early years she got to spend with her two granddaughters, as those were special times for Donna. She was predeceased by her parents and stepfather, Stillman Parker and stepmother, Ginny Morrison, her brother Dennis and sister-in-law Kathy, and brothers, James and Donnie Allen. Donna is survived by two sons, Donald Jr. and Douglas Hupe and their spouses, two grandchildren and two great grandchildren all of Sanford, two brothers, Donald Morrison of Sanford and David Morrison and his wife Christine of Shapleigh with whom she lived for the past three years, sisters in law, Claire Morrison of Sanford, Lorraine Rodrigue of Shapleigh, Sandra of Acton and Nancy of Shapleigh, brothers in law Richard Hupe and wife Ruth of Berwick and Maurice Hupe of Shapleigh, as well as several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Monday, November 6, 2023, from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. Burial will be following at Laurel Hill Cemetery in Saco. A special thank you to the Gosnell Memorial Hospice staff, Southern Maine Medical staff and her doctors and specialists.
