Resided in: Kennebunk, Maine

Richard A. Clark, 83, of Sanford passed away on Sunday, November 27, 2022 at Huntington Commons in Kennebunk. He was born on October 8, 1939, one of six boys to Clifton and Florence (Jeness) Clark in Alfred. He attended Sanford Schools and graduated from Sanford High School. On October 7, 1961, he married Sally Ricker and together they shared 56 years of marriage. Richard spent his career at Cyro Industries in Sanford where he retired after 44 years and 4 months. He liked to pass the time by puttering around his house and yard. He enjoyed gardening, being outside and fishing. One of his greatest joys was spending time with his grandson Emerson. They spent as much time as they could together and had a special bond. Richard was a quick-witted, no-nonsense man. He had many skills and could fix anything. He was also a kind, gentle soul, a great listener, storyteller and always willing to help. He lived a good life, raised two very successful boys and will not be forgotten. He is predeceased by his wife Sally Clark (2017), recently a son Jonathan Clark (2022), and two brothers, Buddy and Tom Clark. Survivors include his son David Clark and his wife Kelly of Wells, brothers Ermont, Peter and Dean Clark, and grandsons Andrew, William and Emerson Clark. A time of visitation will be held on Monday, December 5, 2022 from 10:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. at Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home, 580 Main St., Springvale. 3. This story was told to me by my Uncle Richard himself. He said he was trying to sneak in past curfew one night and there was a stair that creaked. My Dad, his older brother, his room was near the stairs. He woke up and yelled out” Who is sneaking in at this hour?”

  4. When my parents were first married, my Dad was drafted and Mom stayed behind in their apartment in Alfred. Uncle Richard would go and pick her up so she could have dinner with the family as she didn’t drive.
