Bertha M. Gendreau, 79, a lifelong resident of Sanford, passed away on Wednesday, August 17, 2022 at the Southern Maine Hospital in Biddeford. She was born in Sanford on January 12, 1943, a daughter of the late Wilfred and Diana (Lessard) Duchette.
For many years she was employed as a dental assistant with the office of Dr. Robert Lincourt.
She was a parishioner of Holy Family Church.
She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Paul R. Gendreau Sr., of Sanford, her children, Paul Gendreau Jr. of Sanford, Karen Hulsey of Smyrna, TN, and Brenda Durant of Sanford. She is also survived by her sisters Anita Walls, Claire Camire, and Diane Walls, as well as 7 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, August 23rd at 10AM at St. Therese of Lisieux Parish, Holy Family Church. Burial will be on Friday, August 26th at 1PM at the Southern Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Springvale.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home, 580 Main Street, Springvale.
