Ruth C. (Pollard) Senechal, 97, of Sanford, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 26, 2023, at the Gosnell Memorial Hospice House in Scarborough. Ruth was born in Sanford on March 30, 1925, the daughter of Kerwin H. and Celia (Harding) Pollard. She grew up in Sanford and attended local schools, graduating from Sanford High School in 1944. Following graduation, she attended nursing school and earned her degree in nursing, becoming a registered nurse. She was employed at the H.D. Goodall Hospital in Sanford for many years. Ruth was a lifetime member of the Sanford-Springvale Ladies VFW Auxiliary. She enjoyed camping, painting, bowling, spending time outdoors and feeding the birds and the squirrels. Ruth was predeceased by her beloved husband of 50 years, Joseph Albert Senechal. Surviving are her son, David K. and his wife Leslie of Sanford; her grandchildren, Jason K. and his wife Tasha of Sanford, Heather Cote and her husband Corey if Hiram and Andrea Olsen and her husband Mike of Limerick; her great-grandchildren, Caleb, Mason, Hunter, Cameron, Suemarie, Kayla, Caden and Cyleigh; several great-grandchildren and her best friend, Cathy Rand of Portland, Maine. Visitation will be held at from 4:00 to 7:00 PM on Thursday, March 2nd at the Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home located at 580 Main Street in Springvale. A graveside service will be held in the spring at Oakdale Cemetery located on Twombley Road in Sanford. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider sending a memorial contribution to the Gosnell Memorial Hospice House, 11 Hunnewell Rd, Scarborough, ME 04074. Arrangements are under the direction of Black Funeral Homes and Cremation service, Sanford-Springvale.
