Norman Fraser
March 25, 1935 ~ August 13, 2022
Norman L. Fraser, 87, of Sanford passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Friday, August 12, 2022, at Summer Commons Nursing Care Center in Sanford.
He was born on March 25, 1935, to the late Aurel L. and Lucienne B. (Guy) Fraser in Salem, MA where he grew up and attended local schools.
On June 15, 1957, Norman married Gloria Menard and together they raised two sons.
Norman was employed by the Department of Public Works in Salem for 33 years. In 2003 the couple moved to Maine to be closer to family.
He was a communicant of St. Therese of Lisieux Parish, Holy Family Church.
He spent his time puttering around the house and working in his yard. He also was a member of the AMVETS, American Legion (he was a lifetime member) and the Elks Lodge and liked spending time with his friends there.
Norman had a great sense of humor, enjoyed telling jokes and kidding around with people.
He was a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather.
He is predeceased by a sister Barbara A. Grabowski.
Survivors include his wife of 65 years Gloria M. Fraser of Sanford, son Daniel Fraser and his wife Pamela of Springvale, son David Fraser and his husband Leo Gagne of Peabody, MA, grandchildren Danielle Kimball and her husband Arthur of Sanford and Shawn Fraser and his wife Melissa of Waterboro and great granddaughters Isabella and Lacey Kimball of Sanford and Alexa Fraser of Waterboro.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 20, 2022, at 10:00 A.M. at Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home, 580 Main St. Springvale with a burial at St. Ignatius Cemetery immediately following.
Arrangements are under the direction of Black Funeral Homes and Cremation Service, Sanford-Springvale.
