Claire P. Sessions

September 22, 1939 ~ May 1, 2023
Resided in:
Sanford, Maine
Claire P. Sessions, 83, of Sanford passed away on Monday, May 1st, 2023, at the Gosnell Memorial Hospice House in Scarborough.
She was born on September 22, 1939, to Gerard and Alice (Allaire) Guillemette.
Claire was employed through the years at General Electric and Sprague Electric.
She was the glue that held her family and friends so closely together for many years with her weekly supper and cards night. She had a special gift of always giving to others, including complete strangers. Making others happy gave more joy to her than to her recipients. Many in the community knew her as the "Cookie/Candy Lady" because she not only brought goodies to the Wolves Club, but also made deliveries to her doctor's office, bank, and pharmacy.
Claire truly loved having children around. When her children were young, her yard was the neighborhood playground. Even when the family went somewhere, she allowed them to bring a friend along. "The more the merrier" was the common theme.
She is predeceased by her husband Donald Sessions, infant sons Jimmy and Jerry Turmelle, son Ronald Turmelle, and recently her brother Rene Guillemette.
Survivors include her son Richard Turmelle and his wife Tammy of Springvale, daughters, Cathy Woodman of Sanford and Karen Bouchard and her husband Dave of Springvale, sisters Susan Murphy and her husband John of Sanford, and Doris Tyger of Sanford, grandchildren, Shawn Mathieu, Laura Hamilton, Brad Bouchard, Jason Turmelle, Sarah Turmelle, five great grandchildren, and
Relatives and friends are invited to a time of visitation on Friday, May 12, 2023 from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home, 580 Main St., Springvale.
