Donald A. Fabrizio, 79, of Sanford, died on Wednesday, February 20, 2019 at Maine Medical Center in Portland.Donald was born August 2, 1939 to Frederick and Evelyn (Mardens) Fabrizio in Brockton, Massachusetts where he grew up and attended local schools. He worked as a jazz musician playing with Dick Johnson, Dave McKenna and the Artie Shaw Band, playing in many venues around New England. In 1974, he married Lorraine Lincoln and together they shared nearly 35 years of marriage until her death in 2009. After getting married, Don left his career as a traveling musician to settle down with his wife. He held several jobs including working as a self employed piano tuner and repair specialist. He also began attending church where he helped foster the children's love for God and music by directing the youth choir.Don and his wife volunteered for many years playing music and entertaining the residents at nursing homes. Don also played dinner music to entertain the guests while they were dining at several area restaurants. Don will be remembered for his kind and loving heart and for always putting the needs of others before his own. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends. Don was predeceased by his wife Lorraine; by two stepsons, Mark and Bradley Spencer; by his son-in-law, Jason Sibilio and by his brother-in-law, Norman Lincoln.Surviving are his daughter, Donna Sibilio of Sanford; two step-sons, Bruce Spencer and his wife Rosemary of Brockton, Massachusetts and Raymond Spencer and his wife Glenna of Florida; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; four siblings, Robert Fabrizio and his wife Anne of Lewiston, Margaret Apjohn of Massachusetts, Paul Fabrizio of Brockton, Massachusetts and Elaine Humphrey and her husband Robert of Oklahoma; and many nieces, nephews and close friends.Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM with a funeral service following at 12:00 PM on Saturday, March 9th at the Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home located at 580 Main Street in Springvale.
