William J. White
William J. White, 84, of Kennebunk, Maine died on Monday, October 20, 2014 at Huntington Common in Kennebunk.William was born on October 31, 1929 to William H. and Bertha (Simpson) White in Philadelphia, PA where he grew up and attended local schools. In 1951 he married Lorraine Bush and together they raised three sons and shared 63 years of marriage. After finishing school William enlisted in The U.S. Army and proudly served for over 20 years, retiring with the rank of Master Sergeant. He had a distinguished military career and was the recipient of the Army Commendation Medal as well as numerous letters of appreciation for projects he managed while serving in the Army Security Agency. After he left the military William went to work as a technical editor for Lockheed Sanders where he stayed for over 20 years before retiring in 1988.William loved was a music lover. After he retired he earned an associates degree online from Berkley and taught himself to play the piano, guitar and several other instruments. He also had a keen interest in his family history and had become a master genealogist. He will be remembered as a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather and will be dearly missed by his family and friends.William was predeceased by a son, Joseph White, two grandchildren, Bonnie and Harley White and two sisters, Bertha and Mae.Surviving are his wife, Lorraine White of Kennebunk; two sons, Billy White and his wife Elissa of Kennebunk, Maine and Jim White and his wife Kathy of Nashua, New Hampshire; two grandchildren, Sarah White of Nashua, New Hampshire and Jason White of Milford, New Hampshire as well as several nieces and nephews.A memorial service will be held at 9:00 AM on Friday, October, 24th at the Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home located at 580 Main Street in Springvale, Maine. Interment with military honors will follow at the Southern Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery located on Stanley Road in Springvale.Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider the Animal Welfare Society, P.O.
