Louville R. Waterhouse, 31, of Acton, died November 7 at the Maine Medical Center in Portland after a lifelong battle with congenital renal disease. He was born in Portsmouth, VA on December 10, 1974, a son of Rollin S. and Jane (Wright) Waterhouse. He attended Norfolk, VA schools, was a graduate of Granby High School in Norfolk, and was a resident of Virginia all his life until moving to Maine 4 years ago.Lou was a renal patient his entire life. He endured 3 kidney transplants and years of dialysis. He was a true fighter who never complained about his situation.Unable to work steadily because of his medical condition, he nevertheless enjoyed his life in many ways. He was an avid comic book collector and he loved music. Some might say he was unlucky considering the medical challenges in his life but his family relates that he could be irritatingly very lucky in other areas such as fishing and especially at the family poker table. A nickname he earned at the card table cannot be printed here. His mother predeceased him.Survivors include his parents, Rollin and Sharon Waterhouse, a brother, Todd Waterhouse, a sister, Kelsey Waterhouse, all of Acton, grandparents Ray and Elinor Demers of Acton, Harold and Jennell West of Alamogordo, NM, and several aunts, uncles and cousins.A period of visitation will be held on Monday from 6-8 PM at the Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home, 580 Main Street, Springvale. Those planning on making an expression of sympathy are asked to consider the Kidney Foundation of Maine, P. O. Box 1134, Portland, ME 04104. To leave the family a message of condolence, please use the Condolences tab at left.
