Percy W. Walker, 73, of Lyman died at his home on Thursday, October 15, 2009.Percy was born in Alfred on March 22, 1936 to Willard and Margaret Walker. When he was young his family moved to Waterboro where he attended local schools. In 1955 he married Joan Bernier and together the couple raised three sons. He retired from Bancroft and Martin Steel in South Portland where he worked for many years.Percy enjoyed woodworking and making very detailed dollhouses. He was an avid camper and liked playing horseshoes, beano, bocce ball, boating and snow mobiling. Percy will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather and will be dearly missed by his friends and family.Surviving are his wife of 53 years, Joan Walker of Lyman; three sons, Brian Walker and his wife Susan of Eastern, PA Bruce Walker and his wife Wendy of Signal Mountain, TN and Brent Walker and his wife Tamara of Windham, ME; a brother Richard and a sister Jenny; eight grandchildren, Scott, Andrew, Brianna, Katrina, James, Shannon, Danielle and Jennifer; five great grandchildren, Bligh, Aubrey, Marissa, Mason and Zelda and his beloved dog Maggie.Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 PM on Sunday, October 18th at the Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home, 580 Main Street in Springvale. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home at 10:00 AM on Monday October 19th.
