Deane Taylor

Deane L. Taylor, 61, of Lyman died on Sunday, April 10, 2011 at the Gosnell Memorial Hospice House in Scarborough.Deane was born in Mineola, NY on November 27, 1949 to James and Ethyl Kist. She grew up in Mineola and attended local schools. She worked for many years as a claim examiner at Banner Life Insurance Company in Rockville, MD until retiring in 2001 due to declining health. She moved to Maine in 2005 to be with her family.Deane was a very likeable and outgoing person with a lot of friends. She was a tough and independent woman with a free spirit. She enjoyed playing pool and card games, especially canasta. She also enjoyed doing crossword puzzles. Deane will be remembered as a devoted and loving mother and grandmother and will be dearly missed by her family and friends.Surviving are two sons, Brendan Egan and his wife Julie of Lyman and Sean Egan of Lyman; a brother, Frank Kist and his wife Anne of Virginia; three grandchildren, James Pike and his wife Becky of Lyman, Amber Baker of Lyman and Ryan Baker of Lyman and two great-grandchildren, Evan Scott Pike and Eliza Jean Pike.Services for Deane will be held at a later date.Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider Hospice of Southern Maine, Attn: Development, 180 US Route One, #1, Scarborough, ME 04074.Arrangements are under the direction of Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home in Springvale.To leave a message of condolence for the family pleaseclick on the condolences tab to the left.
