Mark A. Margolis

Mark A. Margolis, 59, of Shapleigh, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by loved ones on Friday October 11, 2019. Mark was born in Chelsea, MA, on April 29, 1960 a son of the late Bernard and Mollie (Weiss) Margolis. He was raised in Peabody, MA, and after serving in the Navy he settled in Southern Maine with the love of his life Patricia. Mark was a skilled mechanic and welder; he always loved a good 'fixer-upper', the rustier the better. He was a creative craftsman who could fix anything. He loved being outdoors, going for morning runs, bike rides, and joy riding on his motorcycle. Mark worked for 24 years at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard in Kittery, ME. Starting out as a welder he worked his way up to a position as an instructor and educator. He also ran a successful third generation laundry bag business with his wife for 20 years.Mark was a Godly and generous man, always giving to family and friends. He was quick with a joke and his humor will be missed. Mark is preceded by his Mother Mollie (Weiss) Margolis Abbott of Lynn, MA. and father Bernard Margolis of Brockton, MA.Mark was a beloved Husband to his wife of 32 years Patricia (Rodrigue) Margolis of Shapleigh, ME. Loving father to Chantal Margolis and her Husband Sid Spargue of Shapleigh, ME; Michelle Margolis and her Fiance James Dion of Brighton, MA. Adored Grandpa to Gabrielle Spargue and Levi Spargue of Shapleigh, ME. Cherish brother to Micheal Margolis of N. Andover, MA; Nancy (Margolis) Andrews and her Husband Charles Andrews of Augusta, GA.
