Raymond E. Leary

Raymond E. Leary, 95, of Acton, Maine, formerly of Dedham, MA, passed away peacefully on Friday February 17, 2017 with family at his side at the Veterans Home in Augusta, ME. Raymond retired from the Boston Public Library after working 34 years as a custodian. He enjoyed being busy whether it be working on small engines, general home maintenance or working on his favorite get away spot- his camp in Burnham, ME. He was an active member of the Mousam Valley Snowmobile Club, riding until he was 90 years old. He was a WWII veteran and a 50 year member of the American Legion.He was predeceased by his brothers, Donald and Arnold Leary.He is survived by his beloved wife of 70 years, Mildred (Mulvey) Leary, of Acton, ME sons, Richard Leary and his wife Muriel of Bedford, MA, Kenneth Leary and his wife, Teresa of Marstons Mills, MA, daughter, Karen Maples of Buxton, ME, seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren, sisters Margaret Leary of Nashua, NH,, Beverly Gendron and her husband Ron of Nashua, NH, brothers, Harold Leary and his wife, Margaret of Florida, Roger Leary and his wife, Lois of Nevada, Fred Leary and his wife, Peg of Florida.Service will be held later in the spring at the Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home, 580 Main Street, Springvale, ME.
