Carroll "Butch" Glendon Hill, 66, of Springvale, died at his home on March 24, 2012 surrounded by his family.Butch was born in Luton, England on November 6, 1945 to Maurice and Margaret (Dwyer) Hill. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during Vietnam. Butch worked for Ace/Wickes RV where he was employed until they closed. Afterward he began working as a machinist for Bob Perreault and then for Arnold Moulton. He went on to work for Pratt and Whitney where he was employed for 32 years as a tool maker.Butch loved to create things and was very inventive. He enjoyed hunting, carving, painting, motorcycling and using his backhoe with his neighbor Gary. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father and grandfather and will be dearly missed by his family and friends.Butch was predeceased by his parents, Maurice George Hill and Margaret L. Hannah (Dwyer) Hill.Surviving are his wife of 43 years, Mary Ann Hill of Springvale; two daughters, Christine Lizotte of New Mexico and Melissa Dutil and her husband Thomas of Hampton, New Hampshire; three grandchildren, Kyla Dutil, Mariah Dutil and Bradley Waller; and aunt, Betty Legere of Alfred, a sister, Barbara Schneider two nieces and nephews, all of California.A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, March 30th at the Southern Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery, located on Stanley Road in Springvale.Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Maine; 477 Congress Street, Suite M1, Portland Maine 04101.Arrangements are under the direction of Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home in Springvale.To leave a message of condolence for the family please click on the condolences tab to the left.
