Lois D. Foye

Lois D. Foye, 83, of Shapleigh, died on Monday, July 20, 2009 at the Maine Medical Center in Portland, Maine.Lois was born in New Bedford, MA on July 6, 1926 to Warren and Helen (Johnson) Norton. She grew up in Lynn, MA where she attended local schools graduating from Lynn English High School. Following high school she attended Chandler Secretarial School in Boston. She worked for many years as a bookkeeper for the Lynn VNA.In 1946 Lois married Edwin I. Foye and together the couple raised four children. Lois and her husband enjoyed spending time during the summer at their camp on Mousam Lake in Shapleigh. Approximately 20 years ago they expanded their camp on Mousam Lake and made it their year round home. Lois was a member of the Shapleigh First Baptist Church, the Order of the Eastern Star and Lamp Lighters International. She enjoyed reading, knitting and watching the Boston Red Sox. She will be remembered as a devoted wife mother and grandmother and will be dearly missed by her family and friends.Lois was predeceased by her daughter Judith Lois Foye Kilcollins.Surviving are her husband Edwin I. Foye of Shapleigh; three sons, Warren E. Foye and his wife Kathi of Westbrook, ME, Richard E. Foye and his wife Pamela of North Reading, MA and David A. Foye and his wife Melissa of Swampscott, MA; seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, July 24th at the Shapleigh First Baptist Church in Shapleigh, ME. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be sent to the Shapleigh First Baptist Church, P.O.
