Ben Coyne

Benjamin F. Coyne, 76, formerly of Kennebunk and most recently of North Carolina, passed away on Saturday, January 29, 2011 in North Carolina. Ben was born in Kennebunk, Maine on March 10, 1934, a son of the late Francis Coyne and Ruth Littlefield Dalton. He attended local Kennebunk schools. He served his country proudly in the US Navy during the Korean War.Ben was a talented carpenter. He enjoyed gardening and collecting antiques.He will be missed greatly by his family and friends.He was predeceased by his parents as well as his brothers, Stanley Dalton, John Dalton, sister, Beverly Dalton Littlefield, and stepson, Donald Palmber.He is survived by his children, William K. Coyne of Biddeford and Winona Elmore and her husband, Michael of Waterboro, brothers, Robert Coyne and his wife Joan of Florida, Bruce Coyne of West Kennebunk, sisters, Barbara Searles of Wells, Brenda Smith of North Carolina, Betty Nise of Biddeford, eight grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews.Visiting hours will be held on Monday February 7, from 1:00 to 3:00PM with a funeral service to follow at 3:00PM at the Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home, 580 Main Street, Springvale.A graveside service with full military honors will be held in the spring at Pine Grove Cemetery in West Kennebunk.
