Marion S. Casey

Marion S. Casey, 99, of Springvale, passed away on Wednesday, October 24, 2012 at the Oak Street Residential Care Facility in Springvale. She was born in Bridgeport, CT, on June 18, 1913, a daughter of the late Clarence and Helen (Johnson) Seward. A graduate of Laurelton Hall Academy in Milford she then continued her education enrolling in the nursing program at St. Vincent's Hospital in Bridgeport.As an RN she worked as a general and private duty nurse as well as an occasional visiting nurse. She was a communicant of St. Mary's Church in Milford.She was a summer resident of Wilson Pond and a winter resident of St. Augustine, FL for many years. She moved to Springvale in 1997 and was a communicant of Notre Dame Church. She enjoyed knitting, sewing and cooking.She is predeceased by her husband of 66 years, Daniel B. Casey Sr., who passed away in 2003.She is survived by her children, Maureen Casey of Acton, Ellen D'Amato of Westerly, RI, Susan Watson of Portland, Daniel B. Casey Jr., of Springvale and Paul Casey of Louisville, CO, 19 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews.A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at 10AM at St. Therese of Lisieux Parish, Notre Dame Church in Springvale.
