Margaret Buck, 101, of West Newfield, died on Sunday, May 15, 2011 at the Gosnell Memorial Hospice House in Scarborough.Margaret was born in Orono on December 7, 1909 to Archer and Florence (Abbott) Grover and attended local schools, graduating from Gould Academy in Bethel. Following high school she attended the University of Maine in Orono. In 1937 she married Charles Buck and they moved to West Newfield where they raised five children and lived for the rest of their lives.Margaret devoted her life to raising and caring for her family. She was a music lover and enjoyed playing piano and also gave lessons. She also served as the church organist for a time at the West Newfield Congregational Church. She studied the Bible extensively during her life and enjoyed sharing her knowledge with the children while she was teaching Sunday school. Margaret was a nature lover, an excellent seamstress and enjoyed reading. She will be remembered as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend and will be dearly missed.Margaret was predeceased by her husband of 66 years Charles B. Buck, two sons, Archer Grover Buck and Charles Grover Buck and a sister, Olive Ferguson.Surviving are three daughters, Nancy Stambach of Topsham, Eunice Sargent and her partner Nick Kingsbury of Kennebunkport and Theresa Dube and her husband Donald of Saco; two daughters-in-law, Beverly Buck of Waterboro and Alice Buck of Hallowell; a brother, Dr. Albert A. Grover and his wife Jeanne of Madison, WI; 15 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. A brief prayer service followed by a memorial gathering will be held on Wednesday, May 18th at 2:30 at the West Newfield Congregational Church located on Maplewood Road in West Newfield.Arrangements are under the direction of Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home in Springvale.Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider the West Newfield Congregational Church, P.O.
