Noreen D Bridges

noreen bridges
Noreen D. Bridges, 68, of Rochester, a retired innkeeper, died February 3 at Frisbie Memorial Hospital in Rochester after a brief illness. She was born in Oceanside, California, on January 8, 1953, the daughter of Walter and Estelle (Moulton) Ducharme. She attended Wells schools and was a graduate of Wells High School. For much of her adult life, Noreen was an innkeeper, a career she completely enjoyed. She owned and operated the Family Affair Motor Court in Kennebunk Lower Village for several years. She then worked as the manager of the Turnpike Motel in Kennebunk, retiring several years ago. She also worked at the Kennebunk Chamber of Commerce. She really took pride in being an EMT in Kennebunk for many years. Family was incredibly important to Noreen. She particularly enjoyed family gatherings, and usually had arranged for a game or two for everyone to play. Her home was always open to family and friends, with plenty of food and beverages at the ready. Noreen was a huge fan of her grandchildren and could be seen cheering them on at many of their various sports events. Many family gatherings and events will be a little quieter in her absence. She was known as" mammie" to many as well as her grandchildren. In her quieter moments, she enjoyed knitting, crocheting, quilting and painting. She enjoyed cooking and tried several new recipes every week. An avid reader, she particularly enjoyed works by Stephen King and John Grisham. She liked antique cars and owned a couple over the years. Noreen loved to travel and had visited many destinations with family and friends. Survivors include her husband, Don Bridges of Rochester, daughter Stacy Lamontagne, her husband Denis of Kennebunk, son Justin Bridges of Saco, daughter Christine Moisan, and her husband Dan of Wells, stepson Patrick Bridges of North Berwick, grandchildren Brady Lamontagne, Chase Lamontagne, Mikayla Moisan, Cody Pierce and his fiance Cara Shaw, Jesse Taylor, Alana Moisan, Kierra Moisan, great grandchildren Madelyn Pierce, Lucas Shaw, Natalie Shaw, sister Marilyn Cote and her husband Phil of Sanford, sister Lori Black and her husband John of Springvale, brother Eric Ducharme and his husband Ron Appleby of Alfred, sister Julie Johnson and her husband Dave of Wells, brother Errol Ducharme and his wife Candy of Springvale, brother Larry Ducharme and his wife Faith York of Peaks Island, and several nieces and nephews. Guestbook

  1. MY Sympathy to Don Bridges and family for the loss of your beautiful wife, Doreen. I did not know her but had her about you and your wife through my friends’ Bob & Judy Hayes. I had heard how Noreen was a fighter and survived an ordeal she faced several years ago due to an aneurysm she suffered. You were her ROCK from my understanding. I got to know you through Marc Motors in giving me rides to and from appointments once in awhile. You were always kind to me and offered sympathy to me after losing my husband. The pain is heartbreaking but I can only tell you Our loved ones will always be with us as well as our memories. GOD will give you ALL the strength to get through this as will your family and friends.
