Timothy C. Richard, 62, of North Berwick, passed away peacefully in his sleep at his brothers house in North Berwick, Maine on May 19, 2021. He was born in Sanford on June 25, 1959, a son of the late Henry and Joyce (Smith) Richard. Tim had a heart of gold, a contagious smile and a childish disposition that spread love and happiness wherever he went. Tim was a long time employee of Cheries Bistro in Kennebunk, where he washed dishes with pride. He was an avid volunteer at the Sweetser Home, never complaining while cleaning out the horse stalls. He was an honorary member of the Kennebunk Fire Department. Tim touched the lives of many and he will be extraordinarily missed. He is survived by his brother, Tom Richard and his wife Cindy of North Berwick, Maine , their children Nicole Richard and Shane Richard (and his son Cael Richard), his brother Todd Richard and his partner Cliff O'Connor of Cape Neddick, Maine, Todd's daughters Lily Bickerstaff-Richard and Grace Richard, uncles, aunts, cousins and their families and many friends. He is predeceased by his parents, Joyce and Henry Richard and his great niece Leah Marie.Please join us for a celebration of Tim's life and luncheon on June 26th at 11am at Jonathans Restaurant in Ogunquit, Maine.In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the North Berwick, Maine Rescue Squad.Condolences may be expressed at www.blackfuneralhomes.com

To Tom and Todd,
As a very young child going to visit my Mom’s best friend ” Auntie Joyce” up on the farm in Lebanon was always fun and adventurous. Why ? Tim and I would eventually be outside in a field or dirt playing . Exploring for bugs, snakes, frogs, flowers and butterflies. Even now, I remember his endless energy and that smile he had from the very start.
It was through Tim I was taught a very big lesson as a child. One day I mentioned to Mom that I didn’t understand why I could do something that Tim couldn’t and he was older than me. Mom sat me down and said, ” You may not understand this for a long time. Everyone has challenges in their life. Tim has his and you will have yours. You are no different.. Just remember when you are struggling you will want someone to be patient with you, someone to help you, someone to support and teach you but most of all someone to love you. Tim needs that and more then you know.”
These words, this lesson have come to mind many times throughout my life.
So a Heartfelt Thank-you to you Tim and Thank-you to my Mom for explaining it so well .
With sincere understanding of the loss you are feeling, try and remember just how blessed you were to have him in your family and we have been blessed by knowing him.

I was saddened to read of Tim’s passing. It has been almost 30 years since I last spoke with Tim. He worked for me at McDonald’s in Sanford with his good friend and group home roommate Mike, they were both awesome workers and a pleasure to call friends. May God Grant Tim, eternal rest in his blessed kingdom of no pain nor sorrow nor suffering. Eternal be his memory
