Edward N Provencher

Edward N. Provencher, 78 passed away peacefully on Friday, June 11, 2021 at his home in North Waterboro, ME. By his side were his devoted wife of 51 years, children and granddaughter. Born at home in Limerick, ME, Eddie was the son of the late Emile and Blanche Provencher. Growing up in Limerick, coming from a family of nine, as a teenager he did odd jobs working for the nuns and a special school teacher to help support his family during his mother's illness. He played on the local baseball team. 1960, at the age of 17, following his brothers Laurent and Leo, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and spent time in Okinawa, Japan. After returning home, he worked in local mills and later obtained his CDL license. Eddie also was a skilled carpenter. In 1974, he built the home he and his wife raised their family in. He was an extraordinarily hard working man, devoted to his family whom he loved dearly. After a career of over the road trucking he built a general contracting/excavating business with his son Shawn. He really enjoyed operating the loader, working in the pit and hauling dirt. To Eddie, the most important thing was his family. He was their rock, the glue that kept everyone together. He was a great story teller. Animated, embellished and hilarious, he was the man who lit up the room and when you heard laughter, you knew the source behind it. Besides story telling he loved music, dancing and playing the harmonica. Eddie was predeceased by his oldest brother Andre, his mother Blanche, father Emile, brother Laurent, step mother Beatrice, and his grandson Eddie. He leaves behind his wife Dotty, daughters Tina Foster and Rhonda Girard and son Shawn Provencher, his grandchildren, Ashley Whitten, Arielle Solomon, Forrest and Amanda Dale, Santana Grant, Logan and Cody Provencher. His great grandchildren Isla, Vaile and Aven Ciraldo, sisters Cecile Lepate, Claire Brown and Jeannine Brunette, brothers Gerald Provencher, Leo Provencher, Bobby Provencher and Paul Provencher, and step brothers Andre and Denis Plette. Funeral Sevices will be held on Thursday June17, 2021 at 10:00 A.M. at the St. Mathews Church 19 Dora Lane in Limerick Maine, followed by a celebration of life at the family home directly after.
