Carol A. Poisson, 83, of Sanford passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 14, 2026 at Pinnacle Health and Rehab in North Berwick.

She was born on November 18, 1942 to Walbert “Wally” and Doris “Larose” Charette in Sanford where she grew up and attended local schools and was a lifelong resident.

In early years she worked in local shoe shops, dress shops, and then housekeeping, homemaker, also did some volunteer work in nursing homes. She enjoyed reading, taking small trips with her husband, Harmony Club, and Trafton Center.

She is predeceased by her parents, her husband Emile E. Poisson Jr. and her sister Phyllis Tsika.

Survivors include her daughter Barbara Fuessel and her husband Barry of Shapleigh and her sister Patricia Leclere of Lyman.

The family would like to thank the healthcare, doctors, nurses, support staff, friends and relatives for compassion and tireless care.

A graveside service will be held at a date and time to be announced.

  2. I met Carol in Pinnacle when my dog and I would visit each week. I will miss her tremendously! My condolences to her family.
