Charles Louis Gorsun

Charles (Charlie) Gorsun, 72, of Wells, Maine, passed away on August 18, 2026. Charles Gorsun was born in May of 1954 to Bernard Gorsun and Hilda Gorsun née Weiner. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Patricia (Patty) Gorsun née Russo, sons Stephan Gorsun and Joseph Gorsun, grandchildren William Gorsun and Ellie Gorsun, and daughters-in-law Sheena Gorsun née St. Hilaire and Nicole Gorsun née Dunton. He was predeceased by his parents, brothers, Barry and Stephan, and sisters, Joyce and Janice.

Charlie grew up in Lexington and Arlington with his seven siblings: Barry, Sharon, Allan Stephan, Joyce, Janice (Janie), Rosalind (Ros) and Phyllis (Paulie). Charlie was a dedicated brother. After his brother Stephan passed in 1968, Charlie kept his memory close, naming his eldest son in his honor. While he worked in Massachusetts, he’d often spend time with his sisters, nieces and nephews. To many of his sister’s children, he was fondly known as Uncle Chuck. During this time spent with his sisters, he would be introduced to his future wife, Patty.

Charlie and Patty were married in Woburn. They would then move to Maine, eventually settling in South Berwick in 1995 to raise their sons. While Charlie alleged to not be a big fan of family parties, he still relished in breaking out his camcorder to record the shenanigans (much to the chagrin of camera shy relatives.) He believed in bonding over a meal and was quick to extend the olive branch of Chinese food to heal any and every conflict. He enjoyed listening to music and playing rummy with friends. Charlie loved spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren.
For many years, Charlie worked as a Quality Control Engineer at Analogic, a job which he was very proud of. Charlie’s career required frequent time away from home and travel overseas, but he enjoyed the challenge and purpose of his work. After his retirement, Charlie and Patty delighted in day trips up and down Route 1, exploring the shops along the way. He also adored his cats, Isaac and Lola. Charlie will be remembered for his love of Boston sports, strong will, and sense of humor.

There will be a private service. In lieu of donations, Charlie would have preferred you use that money to share a meal with your loved ones.
