Ross E. Squires

Ross E. Squires, 79, of Springvale, Maine, passed away peacefully on June 22, 2026. He will be remembered most for his unwavering commitment and tender, years-long dedication to caring for his late wife, Sandra Squires, until her passing in 2023.

Born on January 12, 1947, in Brady, Texas, Ross was the son of Stephen Squires and Florence Allin. He built a life centered around service and quiet strength. As a young man, he enjoyed traveling from town to town helping others rebuild there homes after storms. He worked as a machinist for much of his life.

Beyond his professional life, Ross enjoyed fishing, woodworking, and handyman work bringing joy and warmth to those around him. However, his greatest legacy is the selflessness he showed in his later years. He became his wife’s primary caregiver with unparalleled patience, grace, and love, setting a beautiful example of commitment for his children and others.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Sandra Squires and his sister, Patricia Squires.

He is survived by his loving children, Mark Squires and his wife Danielle and Brian Squires; his grandchildren, Elise and Leah; his sibling, Beth Bumgardner; his stepson, Ricky Rodriguez; and several nieces, nephews, and friends who will miss his gentle spirit and steadfast character.
