Stephen “Papa” Brown passed away peacefully in his sleep at his home on July 14, 2026.
Stephen was born on June 15, 1955 the son of the late Orrin and Esther(Noel) Brown.
Stephen graduated from Spaulding High School in Rochester. He was employed by Alltex as operations manager for more than 40 years. There, he forged many lasting friendships.
Steve enjoyed camping at Moosehead Lake, riding his motorcycle and watching Patriots football, hosting many watch parties in his football room above the garage.
Above all, Papa treasured his family. He loved spending time with his six daughters (yes 6 because he didn’t want 7) and their families. He was never afraid to tell them all how proud he was and how much he loved everyone. His passing is going to leave a big hole but luckily we have LOTS of stories.
Stephen was predeceased by his parents, Orrin and Esther Brown, a son in law Timothy Robichaud and Great Grandson Riley Vieira.
Stephen is survived by his daughters Jana Robichaud and her partner Peter Smith of Acton, Lynn Mullins and her husband Ron of Acton, Jill Vieira and her husband Mike of Acton, Lisa Burton of Cameron N. C., Angela and her husband Aaron Denbow of Sanford and Susan Bouvier and her husband Mark of Shapleigh; his grandchildren Cal, Ryan, Brad, Brandon, Nick, Alex, Alyssa, Jeff, Emily, Austin, Cyrus, Chantelle, Aaron, Gabe, Elaine, Kylee, Sarah and Sean; his great-grandchildren, Walker, Maia, Wren, Willow, Jack, Alexandria, Asher and Vash. He is also survived by his siblings, Pat and her husband Don Rawski, Kathy and her husband Roger Mains, Arthur Brown, Peggy Rowell and Lainie Winchell, the mother of his daughters.
Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, July 22 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at the Black-Heald & Walker Funeral Home, 580 Main St. Springvale, ME.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, July 25 at 3:00 pm at 102 7th Street in Acton.
