Beatrice L. Creedon, 94, of Sanford, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 13, 2026, in Lyman, at the home of her daughter, where she had lovingly resided for the past twelve years, surrounded by the care and comfort of her family.
Born in Springvale, Maine, on March 5, 1932, Bea was the daughter of Herbert and Neruda (McFarland) Wilson. She was raised in Sanford, attended local schools, and remained deeply proud of her Sanford roots throughout her life. The community where she was born and raised was always close to her heart, and she cherished the many friendships and memories she made there.
Above all else, Bea was a loving and devoted mother whose greatest joy came from caring for her family. She took tremendous pride in maintaining an immaculate home, creating a warm and welcoming place where family always came first. Her quiet acts of love and kindness left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know her.
Bea had a generous spirit that extended well beyond her own family. An accomplished knitter, she lovingly made countless pairs of mittens, donating them to local schools and daycare centers to help keep children warm during the cold Maine winters. She found happiness in simple pleasures, including shopping with loved ones, collecting beautiful porcelain dolls and Hummel plates, and admiring her cherished jewelry collection. A cat lover throughout her life, she was a dedicated supporter of the Animal Welfare Society in Kennebunk. In her younger years, she also enjoyed bowling and proudly competed in a work-sponsored bowling league. Though she treasured many memories, one thing she never enjoyed was having her photograph taken.
During her working years, Bea was known for her strong work ethic and dedication. She began her career at American Cyanamid, where she worked for four years, followed by a position as a clerk at the Alfred Courthouse. She later joined Sanford Health Care Facility, where she faithfully served for 28 years before retiring, forming many lasting friendships along the way.
Bea was predeceased by her husband, James Creedon, Jr., and her son, James Waterhouse.
She leaves behind a loving family who will forever cherish her memory, including her children, Douglas Waterhouse of California, Kathie Berard and her husband, Roger, of Lyman, Carla Pelletier and her husband, Paul, of Wells, and Scott Waterhouse of Warren; her daughter-in-law, Mary Lamb of Acton; as well as 42 grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and many friends whose lives were touched by her kindness and generosity.
In accordance with Bea’s wishes, all services will be private.
Arrangements are under the direction of Black-Heald & Walker Funeral Home and Cremations, Sanford-Springvale.
Although Bea preferred to stay out of the camera’s view, the love she gave, the warmth she shared, and the countless lives she touched will ensure that her memory remains vividly alive in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

Kathy. So sorry to hear about Bea. I remember the good times and laughs we all had at Saturday night bingo. Bea was a wonderful and thoughtful person.
