Joseph Latham

September 20, 1936 ~ February 3, 2026

Born in: Freeport, Maine
Resided in: Brunswick, Maine

Westbrook – Joseph Latham, 89, previously of Portland, passed away peacefully on February 3, 2026, at Mid-Coast Senior Living Facility in Brunswick with family members by his side. Joe was born on September 20, 1936, in Freeport, son of the late Peter Latham and Eva Mae Leighton.

He was raised on Peaks Island and always had a story to tell about growing up there. Joe was a hard worker and I don’t think he ever missed a day. Other than his fishing, he had no interest or time for hobbies. But one of his greatest joys was watching his children and then grandchildren play sports. He was a true family man and was always there when needed.

Joe was predeceased by his stepfather Harold Woodman; siblings, 5 sisters and 4 brothers; daughter, Lorraine; son, Joseph; and grandchildren, Brandi and Brian. Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Michele; children, Betty; Felicia Chamberlain (Marc); Althea Palmer; Karl (Vickie); stepchildren Theresa (John) O’Malley; Al “Kip” Dyer (Nicole); Pam Madore (David); Frank Dyer (Heather) and Mike Dyer (Tory); sister, Joan Woodman Faulkner; and several grand and great-grand children; and many nieces and nephews.

Joe will be deeply missed. The family would like to thank the staff at Mid-Coast and Chans Hospice for their excellent care and support during this difficult time.

Family and friends are invited to visit from 11am – 1pm on Sunday, February 8, 2026, at The new Conroy-Tully Walker Cremation, Funeral & Gathering Center, 300 Allen Avenue, Portland. To view Joe’s memorial page or to leave an online condolence, please visit www.ConroyTullyWalker.com.
